An idea conceived by the hotel's founder, Jacques Desbois, The Hotel de Glace is located in Quebec and is unique in that it's rebuilt every year, taking five weeks to erect. The hotel is open from the first week of January until the last week in March and offers guests the unique experience of staying in a hotel made out of ice albeit with creature comforts like a heated toilet, hot tubs and bar to warm up guests. This year the hotel is celebrating its Nordic roots with the Bar de Glace featuring designs representing the complexity and diversity of water. The hotel will also be celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2010 with creative and unique designs throughout the hotel.
