did you know the purr of a cat is produced by rhythmic contractions of its larynx muscles and diaphragm to open and close the glottis. so it's breathing in and out against the vibrating larynx muscles, the air producing the purr. and frequency is between 25 to 150 Hz and these frequencies have been suggested to improved bone density and promote healing, thus 'nine lives'

this theory grew out of Roger W. Sperry as he studied the effects of epilepsy and cut the corpus collosum (the structure connecting the 2 hemispheres of the brain) coz it seemed to reduce or eliminate seizures. but patients experienced other symptoms after the cut;
if shown an object such as a pencil,
with the right hand and eye (left brain) they could name the object but did not know its purpose.
with the left hand and eye (right brain) they could explain and demonstrate its use but could not name it.
